Here is a tomato scene I did in pastels on rough water color paper.
I did these in large chunky pastels and to my surprise turned out very well.
I first did this little tomato which is shown in the photo above.
I smudged it a little so you might notice that in the finished version of this painting that it actually looks quite different.
This painting was done on the back of rough papper (Acid free).
The first wash was added in transparent water colors and the second was
done in gouche.
This is my first time with gouche.
I have made a test painting done on pastel paper.
The fields of grass where diluted with water to give a distance effect.
The first wash (coat) was done in transparent watercolors.
